Kennith Maitland has been painting for more than 40 years — a practice that has taken him across the world and back to the sun-drenched landscape of the California desert. His abstract works are deeply personal, shaped by a lifelong engagement with color, movement, and intuition.

Now based in Palm Springs, Kennith creates large-scale originals that hang in private and corporate collections across the country. Painting is how he makes sense of the world. Each canvas begins as an internal conversation — a color, a feeling, an impulse — and becomes something alive and permanent.

This year, he is preparing for his debut at Laguna Art-A-Fair (June 26 – September 6, 2026), his most significant public exhibition to date.

Kennith works primarily in acrylics on large-format canvas, building each painting through layers of gestural brushwork, bold color, and intuitive mark-making. The process is physical and immediate — each piece evolves organically as the artist responds to what the canvas demands.

The result is work that vibrates with energy and presence. No two paintings are alike, because no two moments of creation are the same.
